Why Ecopersona?
Ecopersona association is a very humble effort to make people understand the dynamics of their behaviour in relation to the environment in which they are thriving.
By changing the personality, one can get more attuned to nature and work for the protection and conservation of the environment.
The idea to start such association came to my mind after several years of teaching and mentoring young undergraduate students in Mumbai. While speaking to them, one realizes the immense potential they have to work in the positive direction.
Soon after registering Ecopersona Association, I had an opportunity to undertake the training of Climate leader from none other than Mr. Al Gore at Istanbul during June 2013. This training opened the windows to the international community who make every effort to save out Mother Earth and her natural processes. In the same year I was appointed on the Governing Body of Maharashtra Nature Park, the first man-made forest created on the landfill sites of Dharavi, Mumbai.
In the subsequent years, being the President of Roatary club of Mumbai Shivaji Park, ( 2015-2016), this platform was utilized by me to spread the awareness about climate change.
In the initial years of hardship and lack of financial support has made the things apparently difficult but volunteers like Ms. Monali Patil-Randive saw to it that the activities moved on.
Along with this environmental work, the inclusion in rural trusts ( Nerur, Tehesil Kudal, Dist. Sindhudurg, Maharashtra) kept me busy in the field of education and empowerment of rural women.
As I had decided to spend my remaining years of life for Environment, Education and Empowerment of women, Ecopersona became a platform for me to reach out to people.
I shall share my experiences of this work gradually in this blog.. Till then keep our earth safe and happy.
